What to look for when searching for a Chiropractor?

So you have  pain and want to look for a chiropractor in your area to help you out! There are a couple of things to keep in mind when searching for a chiropractor.

  1. Is the clinic environment clean and friendly?
In the days where cleaninless is everything, make sure the clinician is following the most up to date CDC guidelines. This information can be gathered by a simple call to the office to ask about there cleaning procedures. The environment should be welcoming and comfortable for anyone walking in.
  2.  Does the clinician listen to your needs?
When you talk to the doctor do they take time to listen to your issues, address your concerns, and create an individualized treatment plan. Every injury is different and therefore every treatment should be slightly altered to fit the needs of the patient.
  3. What is their skill set?
This is all dependent on the type of services you need. If you are looking to treat sports related injuries, that is my specialty.
  4. Great reviews!
Check all the review sites and look at a couple of them. The quick 5 star reviews tend to not be truthful if that are the only reviews you see. Make sure the chiropractor has specific, in depth, reviews.
  5. Answer any questions and admit their faults.
Chiropractors are humans too. They provide you the best level of care they feel at that time. If the treatment plan isn’t providing relief there are four possibilities that need to be considered: wrong diagnosis, wrong treatment plan, not following home exercises, and/or need more time. Either way, the injury has to be readdressed and if needed, a new course of action has to be developed.
